BlueMoon Studios is Butch and Joy Oglesby.

For my entire life people have called me Butch. Not sure why, but it seemed to be a popular nickname in the 1950s, the decade of my birth.

It seems that for as long as I can remember I’ve had a fascination with photography. My first camera was a Brownie Hawkeye my mother handed down to me in the early 1960s.

Joy my wife, gave me my first “good” camera for our first anniversary in 1971. Life has not been the same since. Many, many cameras later, I still love just holding my camera and making photos.

Joy, being married to me, couldn’t help but becoming a photographer. A camera has been a main part of our lives for as long as we’ve been married. And that’s a long time.

Opened BlueMoon Studios in 2006 in the Town of Mt. Laurel and moved into Artists on the Bluff in 2011.
