Artwalk 2016 Location: Gallery Lofts Parking Lot, 2412 2nd Avenue North
I am a native and longtime resident of Montgomery, Alabama, and I first discovered my gift and interest in photography in the fall of 2012 while assisting on a photo shoots with a local photographer. I quickly became very passionate about my new found gift and purchased a DSLR camera and enrolled in a certificate program at Auburn University in Montgomery. During this program I was introduced to Adobe Photoshop Elements and quickly learned how to transform my photographs into something more than just pictures.
My camera is the tool that I use to capture the beauty that is all around us. It could be in an alleyway where the buildings stand together to create lines and shapes. I could be on a beach where the colors of sand, sky, and water come together so that each component complements the other in the same way that flute, violin, and piano would complement each other while playing the same composition. It could be in a garden where one feels to be in a world within a world. My desire is to capture that image that is not just a picture but a visual experience which touches one’s senses and emotions. I want to create art from those images.
