Amber Orr a native of Alabama, is a graduate of The University of Montevallo, where she received a B.F.A in Drawing.
Her work deals with internal and external discovery of self. Her subject matter often herself, is an invitation about the obstacles of being a Christian female. Her work is a celebration of embracing her flaws, through spirituality.
For years, she was looking for peace in all the wrong places. With time she found the need to slow down and focus on the deep and spiritual love that is expressed and shared through her art. Her goal is to shift people from the negative to the positive. She realized that people need to feel better about themselves and to also think about humility. How to be better people through love by exchanging their struggles for a pleasant experience. Transitioning themselves to create this heavenly ambiance on Earth.
Each piece shares a deconstruction and reconstruction process. Mistakes are left to give the work that sense of vulnerability and imperfection. These errors, often manipulated through lines, shapes, colors, and textures symbolizes past struggles. Pieces dealing with spiritual growth, often have an abstract and an ambiance of peace.
