Medium: Sculpture

Artwalk 2012 Location: Black & White: 2210 2nd Avenue North

This Birmingham artist’s work is as diversified as her busy life. Nada instructs beginners in the art of hand building and sculpture, but her passion and focus truly lay in organic ceramic sculpture. Influenced by by people and the world around her, the artist aspires to capture a humorous glimpse of the human spirit, a story told through figurative art form.

Clay is Nada’s chosen medium. Working with earth tone clay bodies, in their natural form, these pieces of art show a crude vitality with little or no glaze on the completed sculpture. Raku, a reduction glaze technique that relies on the extremes of nature's elements, fire, air and water; create the effect on her work making each piece unique, impossible to duplicate.

Through a number of successful and award winning shows, as well as news article and television appearances, Nada Boner has made a name for herself in the art community. Nada’s work may be seen in regional galleries: Bare Hands (Birmingham), Four Seasons (Homewood), Patina Gallery (Fairhope, AL), and Clemens Gallery (GA).
