Medium: Mixed Media

I am inspired by nature and color. I’m drawn to using fluid mediums because of the unexpected outcomes. When I started working with watercolor, I loved that the medium was hard to control and sometimes has a mind of its own. I think the mistakes are often the most exciting part! Then I discovered alcohol inks in 2018 and have had so much fun experimenting with the vivid colors that the ink provides. I create multimedia collages consisting of alcohol ink, acrylic, markers, wire, and beads. I like to keep my alcohol ink paintings non-objective and uncontrolled abstract pieces, that I then “control” when I cut out and assemble into my nature-inspired collages. Many of my works are based on direct interactions that I’ve had with nature.
