“Butch Oglesby’s life began in a home-built house on a dirt road in rural Mobile County, Alabama. A naturally curious dreamer, he spent his childhood exploring southern swampland and pine forests, all while imagining the wider world beyond them.

That world began to open up when his wife, Joy, gave him a camera for their first anniversary—it was love at first click. That moment sparked a creative journey that has spanned more than half a century.

After serving a tour of duty in the U.S. Army, he went on to live in several states across the U.S. and spent nearly a decade in Europe. In midlife, he turned photography into a career, building a successful business capturing weddings, families, and corporate clients. While this work provided a steady income, art photography has always remained his true passion.”
