Birmingham native Christopher Davis is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art & Design with a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design. While in Savannah, Georgia, he designed the official T-shirt for The Savannah Jazz Festival. He has also designed and illustrated 4 top selling T-shirts for City Stages outdoor music festival in Birmingham, Alabama. After finishing his education in Savannah, Christopher returned to Birmingham. Shortly after, he became a full-time illustrator and designer for Southern Living Magazine for 10 years. He also does improv comedy with the Extemporaneous Theatre Company (ETC), Ugly Baby Improv and hosts Fresh Ground Comics, a monthly stand-up comedy show. His lively art ranges from his colorful dog paintings, black and white illustrations, custom pet portraits (Drawdog Pet Portraits), abstract art and his series of paintings of Vulcan. Christopher exhibits in many city art festivals and was named Magic City Art Connection’s 2013 Emerging Artist of the year, received the Magic City Art Connection 2016 Award of Distinction for his abstract paintings and most recently has been named featured artist for Birminhgam Aids Outreach 2019 Arty Party fundraiser and featured artist of Artwalk 2019.
