I am a local Birmingham artist making mixed media paintings. My artwork celebrates the beauty in black culture, special pertaining to hair. I primarily focus on creativity and expression making portraits with physical hair and other 3d elements. My work is also heavily tied to nostalgia and styles I saw often growing up as a child in the Birmingham area. I tie a lot of my work to political progression and oppression but I hope to bring visibility to black creativity with my art. I also create wearable art such as shoes, handbags earrings that resemble food. I have attached a pair of cake shoes I’ve made. These are fun things I like to make to bring joy to other and myself.
