I am a self taught abstract artist who began painting during the Covid pandemic.  I paint mainly with oil, establishing shapes and lines over many layers.  Canvas pieces can be very complex; paper pieces can be more minimal.  All are about balance and harmony of color.  I would say my work leans more towards a refined modern feel–definitely contemporary but with a refined touch.  I also enjoy sketching figures with charcoal as time allows, and I usually have a few faces and/figures in the mix.  Art is truly about letting the brush move, and there is always an element of surprise for me (amidst many twists and turns) at the end result.
