I’m a self-taught pen artist based in Alabama. Because I work as a social worker, art has always been something I can retreat into. It helps me to process the world’s beauty and grief. I’m inspired by nature, culture, architecture, and literature. I complete all my drawings freehand in permanent pen as I love the way this challenges me to draw with fluidity. My drawings are done completely freehand with a simple rolling ball pen (Pilot V5) on cold-pressed watercolor paper. I don’t use pencil to sketch out my drawings nor do I change pen sizes.
