I’m a Birmingham-based ceramic artist and educator interested in surface design, texture, and playful experimentation with materials. My work often combines layered techniques such as airbrushing, sculptural glazing, and vivid color application.
 As a student of ceramics, my priority is to create high-quality functional objects that elevate everyday rituals, such as sipping coffee in the morning, through careful attention to form, material, and surface.
As an artist, I aim to transform these familiar objects into something more unexpected and eccentric through layered surface design. I’m interested in how subtle alterations in texture and surface can shift a user’s relationship to an object, encouraging a closer look and tactile engagement. Raised forms and bumps often function as an additional sensory layer within my work, inviting interaction through touch. The combination of form and experimental surfaces results in pieces that feel contemporary while maintaining a nostalgic familiarity, as if they belong in a parallel version of everyday life.
As a teacher, I approach the subjects of ceramics and 3D design with a focus on making experimental processes accessible and creatively freeing. Teaching continually informs my own work, encouraging clarity in process while reinforcing the importance of risk-taking, material exploration, and developing an individual visual language.
