Since retiring in 2016, Steve Carmichael has a passion for creating oil on canvas has been inspired by his travels around the country. Steve is a Birmingham, Alabama native. He and his wife of 50 years and live on Logan Martin Lake, which also inspires his work. He primarily paints in the negative technique, painting the background last, creating a unique digital look. He has enjoyed sharing his work at art shows, galleries, and festivals over the last few years. He has had the honor of being commissioned for several pieces.
