Véronique Vanblaere (Véro), a Belgian artist, moved to Birmingham, AL in 1996, where she ran Naked Art Gallery for twenty years. Véro works in fiber art, creating wearable art, reworking and revamping clothing with various elements and original drawings. She constructs soft sculpture in the form of extravagant hats and luminaries which will often be part of art installations. Her drawings and paintings sometimes morphs into large murals. Véro writes and directs animation films featuring the characters from her drawings or puppets that she conceives and builds. Her work has been featured in Cannes and at Miami Art Basel.
